Our mission

We help companies make better technology decisions, modernize complex software systems, and deliver high-impact engineering work, faster. Soutello IT exists to bridge two worlds that often run in parallel: strong software engineering fundamentals and the practical pressure of business outcomes. Every project we take is anchored in measurable value: cleaner architecture, faster delivery, better reliability, lower cost, or stronger compliance posture.

We are intentionally a boutique studio. We do not try to be the largest consultancy in the room. We are built to be the most useful one for the specific kinds of problems we work on: cloud architecture, application modernization, platform engineering, DevOps, integrations, and the responsible introduction of AI-assisted development into delivery workflows.

Meet the founder

Soutello IT is led by Timoteo Eduardo de Carvalho Soutello, a Software Engineer Lead with more than 17 years of professional experience in software engineering and over 7 years in leadership roles spanning Cloud Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture. Timoteo has worked with global teams across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, in regulated and high-availability environments where reliability, performance, and security are non-negotiable.

His engineering background runs deep on Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, REST and event-driven APIs, Kafka, and the cloud ecosystems of AWS, Azure, GCP, and PCF. On the platform side, he has hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, observability stacks, and the operational practices that make modern delivery actually work in production. As a leader, he has built and guided teams that ship business-critical software in finance, healthcare, logistics, telecom, retail, and energy.

• Finance and payments. Architecture and performance assessment for a national payment infrastructure provider, replacement of legacy payment architecture for an agricultural and industrial finance provider, and cloud migration planning for a global investment and wealth institution.

How we work

We believe consulting should be honest, practical, and delivery-focused. We do not start with a deck full of frameworks and then try to retrofit them to the customer. We start by understanding the business outcome, the existing system, the team that has to live with the solution, and the constraints that are usually invisible from outside.

Our process is described in detail on the homepage, but the short version is six stages: Assessment, Roadmap, Architecture, Development, Quality and Security, and Deploy and Observe. The point of breaking work into these stages is not bureaucracy. The point is clarity, so that the customer always knows what we are doing this week, why it matters, and what changes when it is done.

We use AI-assisted development workflows seriously and carefully. AI is not a replacement for engineering judgment, and it is not a magic productivity multiplier on its own. It is a force multiplier when paired with strong fundamentals, code review discipline, automated testing, and an architecture that allows safe iteration. We use AI to speed up the parts that benefit from speed, and we slow down deliberately on the parts where deep thinking matters most.
